Him-Intro

Today, Eve was acting odd. Not her usual odd, more like, possessed or demented. I'm starting to worry. She's been seeing 'him' more and more. I've only read about him in legends. Could he really be real?

By "him" I mean the Slender Man. To dumb his legend down a bit, he is believed to be a spirit wearing a suit. He gets his name because he is tall and skinny. Some say he is almost like a human tree. Well, human might not be the right word for him. There are certain… attributes… to him that make him inhuman. What I mean is; he defiantly isn't human. His looks… his presence… it just simply isn't! His height… his limbs that reach the ground… his face; oh wait! He doesn't have a face!
Eve is really into the whole paranormal idea. She spends a lot of time on it. One day, she came acrossed him and soon after, he became her prime study. I can understand, he piques my interest also. But… ever since she has found all that information on him; she's changed. Eve is a lot more paranoid… a lot more frightened of life. But I figured it was nothing to worry about. She gets paranoid a lot, ever since we were kids.  But lately, she has been having weird dreams. She comes to school in a sort of a daze. Eve will tell me about them but I think she spares me details so I don't worry about her. Although, the way she tells it, they seem pretty scary. Eve has also encountered him several times.

There are a few things you need to know about the Slender Man. One; he stalks his victims for a while. Two; he finds interest in his victims for some unknown reason. Three; he prefers to appear near wooded areas, non-busy roads, and in fog. Four; he induces fear in his victims… causing something called "Slender Sickness". Five; eventually, he kidnaps his victims and takes them to a nearby forest where they will die. The last fact is why I'm worried for Eve. It's possible she's making the whole thing up to freak me out. Or… it could be real. If it is, she could wind up disappearing and never being seen again.

From what Eve told me, she has seen him several times. Behind her house is a large wooded area. The first time she saw him was there, in the clearance. I know it was him too… I was talking to her over video chat and she looked out the window. She screamed and out of instinct I asked her what was wrong. She mumbled something I couldn't understand. It didn't even sound English to be honest… but then she turned the cam out the window. I saw it myself… I became terrified and screamed myself. I couldn't imagine being her at that moment… if I was afraid and I wasn't there, how would it feel to be right there? She sprinted to her room in the basement in the front of the house and locked the door. It was just getting dark out. I stayed on video chat with her to make sure she was alright. I offered to go over her house, but she said she didn't want to put me at risk. I'm not sure what she meant by that…
